What Way Medium Readings are Perceived - Psychology - EzineMark

Historically, medium readings have been perceived as witchcraft and unholy. They have gained in understanding recently.

Throughout history, psychic ability has been misunderstood. Mistaken for witches, those with these abilities were put to death. Only God, people said, could see what has been and what is to come. In ancient times, however, oracles such as the one at Delphi plus a lesser known one in Rome frequently lent their abilities in medium readings to emperors and those aspiring to the purple. Any psychics kept very, very quiet about their gifts.

The plain truth is that all individuals possess these gifts. It is part and parcel of being part of the One. It's a bond between the Divine and humanity. Much like the bond between parent and child, husband and wife, or good friend with good friend, we can feel them hurting. That is called clairvoyance. We don't need fancy words to describe when or how we know our spouse is upset, or our good friend needs us. It just is. Unfortunately, the general population is afraid of that feeling and knowledge.

On the other hand, the general population is hearing so much about these mental abilities that they are checking them out. We hear every day about science proving these abilities to be so. Every day pagan practitioners reach out to others to teach them of what they are capable. A few are die-hard skeptics who will hear nothing on the subject. These need to check out tarot.

Tarot is a method by which those who divine the past, present, and future read the energies of the Universe as they pertain to the individual.

Each planet has its personality and energy, which will then affect the personality and life of the individual asking for guidance.

Mediums and tarot readers generally have offices in small houses in the back of which are their living quarters. They usually are garishly dressed and made up like a Halloween project gone bad. They sometimes operate in a haze of incense or have candles lit. The crystal ball isn't always there, but other expected tools of divination are present. All this imagery gives most people the feeling they are in a bad B movie, so they don't trust a word that comes out of the mouths of these readers.

Then there are the people, generally women, who dress like an ordinary office worker. Their home office has magazines to read, soft music playing, no beaded curtains, nor divining objects lying about. Their artworks tend to be conservative. When these people break out the cards, they ask pertinent questions. They will often times listen for quite a while as the client gets out of their system what's bothering them. It's more in the client's projection into the Universe their anger, sorrow, or fear that guides the medium or tarot reader to draw the cards the way they do.

The way these people are perceived is directly proportional to what people are searching for when they contact such readers. Build it and they will come might have been written for just such professionals. It is a needed service with dedicated persons reaching out to teach, succor, and guide. Knowing the subject matter would be of great assistance in those needing such services. Perception would then be more real.
